Stuck in Wedding Crazy, but on a slight job down moment

One would hope that I add something to the world- be it good, bad, or indifferent- Me

My sisters bachelorette party was last weekend. I have to say that I am eternally thankful that things went well. It started off a bit rocky with an extremely busy and challenging work week, but things finally got rolling when my cellphone died at the airport picking up Becca's friends.

The house we rented ended up being Awesome! I would totally recommend vacationrentals.com to just about anyone, since that's where we got the house from. It was a bit far from the wineries, but totally cute and cheap.

Friday night consisted of drinking (read 5 bottles of vodka, 4 bottles of wine for 9 girls), chatting (lots of new friends) and playing games (10 fingers and Dirty Words). We all stayed up until about 1am before finally turning in.

Saturday went perfectly, with the limo arriving at 10:50, complete with a cute driver. All of the wineries were great, and we started off things with Briar Rose. Probably my least favorite, but that was because we were the only ones there. Then off to lunch and wine at Keyways, which was at the cutest little table out on the patio. Lunch was great, and the wines were wonderful. Anyone want to buy me some Ice wine? Then we went to Leonese, where our driver went out and picked up some yummy hot brie/garlic bread. We polished that off with another 7 or 8 tastings. By the end of it, we were all wiped, and fairly drunk (read 6 glasses of wine!).

Saturday afternoon we napped, and showered, then some girls made this wonderful pasta dinner. We got all dolled up and went out on the town. Three bars later we were dancing at Club Eleven. We stayed out until almost 2am. For some reason cute boys really wanted to dance with me on my crutches, fun to say the least. Then back to the house for snacking and wonderful Mac N-Cheese. Yummy!

Sunday was quite quick, with basically good byes, some random moving of food, and me driving girls to the airports. Luckily things worked out okay, and I ended up at work that afternoon fine.

Some things were really funny. I found myself looking at my beautiful sister with tears in my eyes...that soon she would be a Wong, no longer a B--kser. Especially when someone commented on us as sisters. There were times when I just had to look away, but I know part of that is because she was so happy, and I'm so happy that she had a good weekend.

It was also mother's day, and although I didn't get to the Miller event, M@ did drop off flowers to my mom! He is an amazing man.

Maybe Every Other Day...

One would hope that I add something to the world- be it good, bad, or indifferent- Me

A while back I was so diligent I was posting everyday. I had a reasonable readership and I felt that I was able to communicate relatively effectively. Well, that's gone out the window, but I'm really going to try two to three times a week.

My sister got into town on Monday to finalize some wedding details and make things happen. Her bridal shower is on Saturday, so we're working on that as well. I have decided to make the cupcakes.

I know, I just finished the 9 person Passover dinner, I have to work on Sunday and I'm basically insane. But... I really want to...

Not only do I want to, but I want to try something new. This is basically my philosophy of life. Having multiple people over whom you are trying to impress? Try something new! Cook something new, bake something new, and just to throw it all in there, even add a new theme or location!

So, I'm baking cupcakes. I told my sister to pick a recipe out of my book. Then I've decided that I will make candied lilacs for the tops of cupcakes. Cute, adorable edible flowers. Throw on some of those little silver candy balls, and I think you've got something beautiful. All the better if I can get the little balls to be black, instead of silver.

So I'm spending my lunch on the hunt for organic, pesticide free lilacs. Then on the way to the dinner party I have tonight, I'm going to try to purchase some little silver or black candy balls.

Did I mention that as I write this I am trying to talk down the wine tasting tour company, answer 4 work e-mails, find a good tailor for my bridesmaid dress and figure out how exactly I can fight my speeding ticket. Yup- that's me. Those lazy days are long gone until Alaska.

**for those of you following along, Matthew and I got our first piece of mail addressed to both of us. Then my parents told me that I couldn't have my wedding in December. Please note, I did not mention anything about an engagement**

Maybe now that I'm working I'll be better

One would hope that I add something to the world- be it good, bad, or indifferent- Me

Wow- now it's been a very long time. For those of you not in other contact with me, I'll give you the 5 minute update.

I've started a new job with UCI. I love it. I'm the Assistant Production Manager for the School of the Arts and it is so wonderful to be doing theatre again. To be in the costume shop and to have tools and actors and all those wonderful things. I still get to do music concerts, but I also get to do dance and special events. Thrilling.

In order to start my job on the 1st I left my apartment and moved in with my parents. What a crazy and frustrating adventure that has been. They are wonderful people, but there are so many frustrations. I have a lot of stuff and trying to put it all into one room is impossible.

I'm still with (or just with) Matt. Things are going really well. We have very full weekends, at least this month, so we'll see how they continue to shape up as we move along the rest of this year.

My birthday is coming up, and my sister is coming down for it. I'm thrilled about that. I'm doing the Mud Run at Camp Pendleton, at least I'm going to try. I injured my right foot trying to train for the event... we'll see what happens on saturday.

I'm having a problem dealing with people's political opinions. I have been dealing with two people who have very strong, and in my opinion wrong, ideas about a few different things. While I've tried to get to the point where we're all okay saying that we can just agree to disagree, it doesn't seem like these two people are willing to let me have my opinions. I have tried to just be quiet, but it's so hard. Thoughts?

Well, I think that's it for now. I'll try to get back to a usual typing and some good thoughts.

A very crazy few weeks

One would hope that I add something to the world- be it good, bad, or indifferent- Me

Let's see what happened:

ComicCon: I went down to San Diego with about 5 other people, and it was an amazing weekend. IT started off a little terribly, with an accident on the 5 by Camp Pendleton. Basically it took us 2 hours to go 7 miles.
Look it up on video here or in words here. Really, neither of these articles help explain the 2 hour backup. The boys got out of the car and WALKED faster. But eventually we made it to ComicCon. The hotel was great, the Hyatt by the Convention Center, and the activities rocked. I got to meet Jamie and Adam from Mythbusters! WoHOO! We watched tons of previews, including Terminator, Disney, Watchmen, the Spirit and a few others. Lots of floor time, and lots of purchases. We even made time for seaport village and dinner

JOB INTERVIEWS: I had one in San Diego, which went well. It was for a Managing Director job, which was really exciting. Then I've had two others, one with a symphony and one with a reunions program at a private university. They have all gone well, but I'm anxious about second interviews, and the lack of 'call backs'.

FAMILY: My sister is at home working on wedding things. I've seen like 8 photographers, 2 DJ's and so far 2 dress stores. There's no time for breathing, let alone anything else!

Perhaps when I get a job....

One would hope that I add something to the world- be it good, bad, or indifferent- Me

I have been applying for LOTS and LOTS of jobs. It's sort of difficult, because some of them I really want. Some just sound interesting and I think I should apply. But either way, I just don't have the answer yet. I'm not sure what I want to do...

Live Theatre: Back to my roots say some. I love theatre, I really do. But after 4 years at CMU I realized that I get frustrated doing the same thing everyday. So, no stage management on a long-running show. I get frustrated with production management because every show it's the same problem with the small off-stage and the wide procenuim, and... and...and... However, I love the people. I love the accomplishment that comes from being done with something. I love being able to sit there and know that I was a part of something. I miss having something I can have friends and parents come and watch...

Student Affairs: The new direction. I have always loved being part of things. I think that student affairs combines, at least for me, the best of making an event happen and helping someone through something/helping someone figure something out. I've always been a see a problem, fix it type person. The one who really wants to help people figure out where to go, and how to get there... I love planning the events others think are stupid. Winter Gala? I'm there!

Grad School: The cheater? I can't help but think this is cheating. I'm just not sure why I applied. Well, I sort of know. Because I could. Because I was there and there wasn't any reason not to.

HMMMM...

On other notes, I got new soccer cleats today. They worked out okay. I'm a little frustrated by my playing as of late, so I'm going to have to work on that when I get the chance. I want to play well, be better than I've been in the past. I want to feel like I have control of the ball, and not tired after 10 minutes of playing, sun or no sun.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

Or should I jet-set to Europe

One would hope that I add something to the world- be it good, bad, or indifferent- Me

I leave for a month long cruise on Sunday. I've decided to tag along with my parents and Aunt. I'm excited, overwhelmed and wondering if I'm crazy.

Before I leave I've decided to apply for a grad assistantship, fill out the FASFA, fill out the suplimental student aid form, and apply for about 15 jobs... sound like a plan?

So, on portugal, on london, on paris and amsterdam. On Germany and finland, russia and sweden...

Another week...sorry

One would hope that I add something to the world- be it good, bad, or indifferent- Me

So, it's apparently been almost a whole week since I last updated.

Important things:

1. Making choices: I find that I am still not thrilled with all of my choices. Sometimes I make the wrong ones, but for some reason, I start to feel that the ones that I screw up are significantly more tenuous and difficult than the ones I used to make. Frustration.

2. Interactions with people: I still find that I'm not thrilled with all of my interactions. I wonder if I'm letting people treat me inappropriately, or that I'm not everything that I could or should be. Is it their expectations that are wrong, or is it my actions?

3. Vietnam: I bought my ticket. $1800 all in (taxes, etc.) It's more than I wanted to spend, but at the end of the day I'm thrilled. I leave at 1am Thursday morning (aka Wednesday night) and arrive in Hanoi at 10am. I leave from Cambodia at 2pm and arrive at LAX at 9pm. YEAH!

4. Tired of being tired: I want to sleep more. That is all.

5. Passover: I'm so excited about passover dinner. If you're around, reading this, and I didn't invite you- shame on me. Call me, and an invitation is on the way. I really hope that people will start to bring food, not just juice or iced tea...

I want a secret pen microphone

One would hope that I add something to the world- be it good, bad, or indifferent- Me

Have you ever had one of those moments when you want to be able to hear what other people are talking about? I have those moments ALL THE TIME. Today, I wished, once again, that I could place a little secret microphone on someone to listen in on their conversations.

It's not that I want to steal information that's private... well...okay... It's just that I want to know when someone is talking about me. I want to know that they are discussing me, so I can understand their thoughts, and react to them on my own.

Often times people don't really share their thoughts about you. It's rude, certainly not the most professional thing to do, at least from the PC world we live in.

But I'm not like that. I want to hear your thoughts...the only problem is that I don't want to have to hear them from your mouth. I don't want to sit in a room, because I will probably cry. I want to hear them discreetly, and internalize and process and become better....

So, I guess, the answer is to IM me, send me an e-mail, or drop a note on my desk. No, anonymous doesn't really help.... I need to know who you are, or I can't figure out what part of my process is wrong...

Childhood Thoughts

One would hope that I add something to the world- be it good, bad, or indifferent- Me

I am spurned to write this by Holly. Thanks for the inspiration...

The first picture I have of myself in California I have long, shoulder length pigtails. I'm in a one piece bathing suit and sitting with one leg folded up, and on my other knee. I've got the biggest grin in the world. The next picture I have of me in California is of me in the same suit, about 2 months later. This time, I swear I look like a boy... my hair had been chopped off to within an inch of my life. Thus started my obsession with my hair.

(Please note that I don't really think that I have an obsession with hair, neither my own, or yours. It's just that after having none of it, I determined that I rather perfer to have some, or a lot. My particular obsession has less to do with the actual hair, and more to do with my control over the existence of it.)

I remember the day my mother cut off my hair. No, it didn't start with a piece of bubble gum. It started with a bottle of spray in conditioner. I have extremely fine hair. My mother had been trying to rid my hair of knots for about half an hour. She had been using Johnson and Johnson No Tears spray in knot detangler. I had started crying about 15 minutes ago. 45 minutes into our hair journey, my mother ran out of the spray, and I ran away, throwing the hair brush the other direction. I believe that it was this moment that my mother decided to cut off all of my hair.

The next week, I was at the salon. I didn't really mind it, it meant I got to sleep more, my mother wasn't yelling at me, etc, etc, etc. It never occured to me how this lack of hair would drastically affect my self-esteem at school.

I was ridiculed mercilessly. It took me until 10th grade to eventually find my love of hair, and a hairbrush. I think we can all agree that it was a good decision...

My meeting went well. let's hope its the start of something beautiful

One would hope that I add something to the world- be it good, bad, or indifferent- Me

I had a meeting at work today. It went BRILLIANTLY. They liked my ideas, I didn't cry, and I got across all of the things that I needed to say. Wow- amazing.

Additionally I stroked some ego and hopefully laid a path for happiness in the future. Happiness and the theory in the hearts and minds of everyone that I intend to keep my job here forever (HAHAHA).

I had an actual conversation with that long lost friend. I have to say that it was better than I thought it would be. Not less awkward, but better than I anticipated. I say this like I anticipated it being poor, which I didn't. I just didn't expect it to be good. I guess we'll just have to see if the rest of the promised information turns up.

I am excited about my fun planned for tonight.

I'm anxious to see how Molly held up being alone all day. I hope she didn't die or destroy anything. She is getting to be a much better girl- I can only hope that once I move her litter box and she can sleep anywhere she wants that my sleeping will get better.

I went to the gym this morning. A really great time. I did a class, which I was a little late to, and then I got dressed. I'm honestly impressed by my own ability to need so much CRAP to get dressed at the gym. Woohoo!

I am happiness. Really- I am.

The cutest cat at the Baldwin Park Shelter is named Molly...

One would hope that I add something to the world- be it good, bad, or indifferent- Me

I brought home a cat. She's a greyish calico cat, the cutest one I've ever seen.

I named her Molly.

She came home and started doing exactly what it was that she was supposed to- keep me company. Help to keep me sane, and look cute.

She's making sleeping a little hard, but I'll get over it.

Pictures on the way.

Family Holidays

One would hope that I add something to the world- be it good, bad, or indifferent- Me

Last night my family got together for Hannukah celebrations. It was actually a really nice time, hanging out, eating dinner, and everyone loved my pie.

I'm always turned inside out by gift giving. I thought that I did really well this year, but at the end of the morning today, I didn't turn out to have done as good as I thought I did. It turned out that my dad was not only disappointed with my gift, he thought he didn't have any use for it whatsoever.

It's not that I'm upset that he didn't like it, I'd rather that if he didn't like it that he told me- but I am upset that I spent so much time trying to figure out what I could give him, and I was totally wrong. Then to add insult to injury he asked me to return it for me. Great....

As for the gifts I got- the new GPS is totally ROCKING! Turn by turn directions, with street names. It's not the same as my Garmin, and probably not as good, but it's sleek and small and I love that.

All in all, a good weekend. I wish that I wasn't to tired to go to the party, and I wish that I knew where he was tonight...but everything can't be perfect....

A lazy day, but a good one

One would hope that I add something to the world- be it good, bad, or indifferent- Me

I had such a great night last night. I went with my friend to the Magic Castle. It's an exclusive magician's club in downtown LA. He took me with his whole family. We had a great dinner and an entertaining seance about Houdini. I saw three different magic shows, ate and drank my fill. It was spectacular, and I got to dress up. Thanks Rands!

Today I was exhausted from the late night out. Unfortunately Thanksgiving brought more than just turkey- it brought drama. It was a long weekend, with a lot of driving as well. So I took today to clean-up, wind down, and gear up for the next week or so of craziness. From now until the 16th things are quite crazy.

I dyed my hair tonight. I was quite nervous, but I'm happy to say that it turned out a nice shade of reddish brown. Just changing a little with the autumn season.

On a totally other note, any suggestions about who to help a family get along through wedding crises? It turns out, finally, that the grooms parents are not planning on contributing any money. Unfortunately for my sister the money my parents were going to give really isn't enough to cover the type of wedding fantasy my sister had. Lots of fights, lots of anxiety, and I'm just not sure that I can handle all of the pressure and conversation. I love them all, I really do, but I just don't think that I can take another year.5 of this crap. Any thoughts?

I miss my best friend. I will be strong and I will overcome. Here's to a successful adventure!

Happy Thanksgiving- or is it already Merry Christmas?

One would hope that I add something to the world- be it good, bad, or indifferent- Me

I love Thanksgiving. It's one of my favorite holidays because unlike most Jewish holidays there isn't any ceremony. Everyone gets together and just gets to eat. However with the Thanksgiving holiday over the whole world gets to celebrating Christmas... why is it that in southern California I get exceptionally annoyed by the fact that it's everywhere?

When I was in Pittsburgh it wasn't quite as annoying. It was actually rather nice. The snow was falling, the weather was cold and someone singing "baby it's cold outside" wasn't nearly as annoying as it is here with the sun and the palm trees.

I remember working at the card store, where each thanksgiving was followed by an intense night filling the whole store with Christmas and 'holiday' cards. Without fail each year someone would come into the store and lecture me on my impending damnation in hell. Of course because I don't believe in hell it's usually just funny to me. Do you want tape with that?

I went shopping, yes, I hit the stores on Black Friday. I bought some cute things and overall I'm very pleased with the whole experience. I love shopping by myself. The more girls you bring the more subjected I feel.

So, Happy Thanksgiving, and I guess Merry Christmas...

Yes, I'm a little odd; and no these thoughts didn't take more than 2 minutes.

One would hope that I add something to the world- be it good, bad, or indifferent- Me

There wasn't any traffic on the freeway today. I made great time for 9am. I'm always amazed at how traffic ebbs and flows. I understand there is an entire science behind it. Somehow I don't think that understanding it would make it any less annoying.

There was a bug on my desk this morning. I noticed it before I turned the lights on. I have this crazy ability to notice bugs. On Monday I noticed a bug that was crawling around on the floor in the light of the TV. It turned out to be a cricket and I was actually kind of sad that he died. But, since he was a cricket, I know that given the chance he would have cricked me to death.

I've discovered the most beautiful thing in my bedroom. And no, it's not my body. I took the 'summer' blanket that I have (yes, I live in Cali and I still try to adjust my life by the seasons) and I started using it like a sheet with my warm quilt on top. It's so great. Because, of course, I needed another reason not to want to get out of bed.

I just got my hands on a xylophone. I think I'm going to paint it, then screw it into the wall near my desk at home. Maybe in the kitchen. If I had kids that would be a great alternative to the normal triangle. Imagine a xy serenade to the kitchen.

I'm going to the magic castle on Saturday. I am so excited. I think I've been waiting for this moment my entire life- I hope that I can remember to have hopes and excitement, and not expectations....

I'm still ELATED about the GRE! I can't believe I did better than I needed to, that it's done, and that I won't ever have to take it again. Thank G-d it wasn't a waste of $140.

I read my Glamour magazine yesterday. I started getting this one because American Airlines told me to use my mileage on magazines because they were going to take them away. My sister loves it, but I have never been such a big fan. I can't help but wonder how it is that these magazines send people to Uganda... what? Uganda? Really?

I watched this ridiculous show called a shot at love with Tila Tequila last night. I happened to catch the episode with the huge, nasty cat fight. That fight was seriously amazing.

I hope I can keep my sanity through the next few days. I just have to remember to smile, think happy thoughts, and know that I love my family. I'm working on a surprise for the immediate family-I hope they are as excited as I am.

What's the meaning of life- and where does the red wine come in?

One would hope that I add something to the world- be it good, bad, or indifferent- Me

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving
safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, red wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming WOO HOO!!! What a ride!

Is this true? Is this really what I should be doing? Am I headed down this path....?

I've been thinking a lot about my future, where I want to be, and when I want to be there. I have to admit that I'm a little less than thrilled about the current 'waiting game'. Of course, a better person would say that all of these moments, this so called waiting, is really a part of the magical experience that is living. I'm not sure where I stand.

I want to get married. I want to start having children. I want to explore new places, new things, and to figure out what I like and what I don't.

When I told my mother that I was headed to Cambodia she told me that she could just shoot me with a gun if I wanted to die. I don't think that I have a death wish. In fact, I think I have a healthy curiosity. Of course, the truth that someone could walk in my door and say 'do you want to go to Timbuktwoo' I'd say when, and for how much? I just want to explore. To connect to new things. I think I sort of feel that as long as I'm not bogged down in the everyday, I won't mind that I feel like my life is not on the track that I want it to be.

I've been thinking a lot about my relationships. The ones I value, and trying to determine where these relationships should go. This includes friendships, intimate relationships and family connections. I'm at a point where I want to stop caring about people, if they don't seem to be caring for me. Where I can no longer give of my self, my heart, and my soul to those I'm intimate with, without something concrete in return. Where I need to feel nothing but generous support from those I'm related to and cannot leave.

I'm trying to hold back from forcing my hand... but the more I sit, the more I believe that that's truly what I need to do...

After all, if I want to skid in sideways screaming what a ride I probably ought to start now.

October Write-Away contest: things that scare me

One would hope that I add something to the world- be it good, bad, or indifferent- Me

While I'm slightly afraid of a bunch of random things, you know, bugs, cockroaches, scary noises, etc. my biggest fear is somewhat different. There are, unfortunately, two of them.

I am terrified, down to my soul, that one day my adopted older sister will decide to look for her real parents. Why does this terrify me you ask? I'm not really sure. What could possibly be wrong with my sister discovering the people who gave her life, genetically speaking? Somehow I feel that if my sister were to go searching for her parents, that she'd be giving me away. I'm tearing up just thinking about it. We shared blood when we were very young, sitting on the banks of the stream in our backyard. I've never had a strong relationship with my sister but lately we've been getting closer. It's been very hard, she moved to San Jose, is becoming part of her fiance's family. If she decided to find her birth parents- I don't know what I'd do.

Who am I kidding- she's my sister; I'd help her look, try to be supportive, but inside I am terrified.

The other thing that terrifies me is that I will wander around the earth looking for someone to love me- only to never find anyone. That I will become a cat lady; the miserable old bat who never committed to anyone. I'm only 23! I'm not sure if I'm more terrified that I'm having these thoughts at 23, or that I really might end up alone. This time in my life is supposed to be wonderful, but really, it's stressful. I don't know what I want but with all my friends getting engaged and married, it's hard to remain positive.

These are the 'Things that Scare me' in response to this post by Scribbit.

You are all encouraged to enter Scribbit's contest, but if you're not feeling up to it just give me a taste: What are you scared of?

Happy Labor Day! San Jose is actually a really cool town

One would hope that I add something to the world- be it good, bad, or indifferent- Me

I went to go and visit my sister in San Jose this weekend. I also saw MATT G while I was up there, before flying out of the San Fran airport.

I was pleased that I went, but again reminded that my sister and I are totally separate people. We may have had the same parents, but our existences are totally separate. I was happy to have gone up there, but not overly pleased with what I found.

Now, don't get me wrong, they had a great apartment. I guess the disappointment is really that not everyone is born with the 'unpack and decorate quickly' urge. I was a little sad that they hadn't progressed any further in decoration.

I think that she is doing okay. Her classroom looked cute, and although I spent most of my time writing an ANNOYING paper, I felt good being able to see it and visit. It occurs to me right now that my sister has never even seen my office. Why doesn't she come help me out for a day huh...?

She seems at ease with his family. i have to admit that I was just a tad jealous of her asking his brother all these questions about her life and her friends. Where are the questions about my life and friends? A little sad.

This week is crazy. I wish that we had another Labor day on Thursday- because I need a break!

What a nice weekend

It all started out with Friday night. I went home, sat down and actually watched some TV. That hadn't happened all week! I lite Shabbos candles, and just took in the light. The travelor staying at our house (Susie) left a book called Three Cups of Tea which was a fantastic read. I stayed up until well after midnight finishing it.

I gave Matthew a call- and to be honest the fact that it was his birthday weekend was probably the only downdraw to the weekend. It's only a downdraw because I was annoyed that I didn't get to celebrate with him at all...however I was the first one to say Happy B-day on his actual birthday.

Saturday started early with soccer. My team has a new player- she's okay. I mean, she's a great player, but she's not so social... we tied 0-0. Really disappointing, since we should have been better than them...no goals.

From there I went home and CHANGED MY OWN BRAKES! Yes, my daddy did help me, but damn...how cool am I!

Went home and out on a very nice Saturday night date. One of those dates were everything is just nice and perfect- even ending in a first kiss. We caught part of a free concert in the park, the Italian dinner was awesome, then billiards. I even WON two games! Then dessert at my favorite crepe restaurant and back home to say goodnight. It lasted from around 7pm-1am...and fun the whole time through!

Sunday was also great! I woke up sort of early, and my roommate had invited people over to have brunch. A random group, mostly people she knew from Pomona and our guest Susie. Nothing hot except coffee and tea- and it was GREAT! A continental breakfast, a little more Eurpoean than USA hotelish. I was there until 2pm! Then off to the family reunion.

The more time I spend with Thomas the more I like him. I still don't think he's right for becca, but he's a decent guy. Perhaps a little to jokey for me, but their engagement annoucement went well. I hung out there for a few hours- and gave dating suggestions to my 29 year old cousin (who took them and had A GREAT DATE!). Apparently I'm not so bad at this dating thing...

Then back home, straightening up, sanding my chair, and working in my bedroom. Another boy came over for a couple of hours and we hung out.

Oh- I almost forgot- I did get yelled at by my downstairs neighbor for sweeping the porch and watering my plants! Very funny story!

Happy Monday

It's been a great and interesting weekend. Two first dates on Saturday, both of which went very well. I think I might be interested enough for second dates with both of them.

Father's day was fun...my sister is STILL annoying, but I guess that's to be expected.

Soccer got cancelled due to a forest fire...grrr.

The MOST INTERESTING NEWS: I spoke with Hallie on IM and Shannon actually picked up her phone! These were humongous events in my life. Thrilling- to say the least!

I keep wondering about my trip- I'm really nervous about war breaking out and being partially stranded in Israel. Irrational fear??? I am totally psyched though, and think that it could turn into one of those personally defining trips. How stupid is it to really just head out into the middle east without any real plan? Seems good to me...

I'm excited about the work happening this summer. Not to much going on, but enough to keep me reasonably entertained. Yeah!

Okay- that's about it. Yeah new boys, cute boys, and fun nights out.
