Radom thoughts and ellipses

One would hope that I add something to the world- be it good, bad, or indifferent- Me

Do short people feel short? Especially short men?....I really want people to celebrate my birthday, I need some love and attention....I can't stand it when cars don't stop for ambulances....Can convince someone to give me something to give away on my blog. Would that increase my readership?.....Do people really win contests?....I don't care if we get in fights. I think it's healthy. But I do care that we solve them by walking away and hurting eachothers feelings...I have finally broken free- Thank G-d....What's the best kind of tea? Does it have to be loose leaf?....Why do I lose socks and sunglasses? Is it an "S" thing?....I want my best friends to come back to LA. I miss them....Any cheap flights to New York the first week of November?.....Carnegie Mellon hung up on me twice on Sunday. And they think this will make me donate?.....My boss might not be quitting, I can't decide how I should feel about this....I really love writing papers, contrary to popular belief....Hockey is a really great sport.....I just want to feel the same happiness when I get in my car to go home, as I do when I get in my car to go to work....I take good evenings and good events and make them end poorly. Why do I do this, and how can I stop?.....I love Halloween, I hope you decorated....I just figured out what TANBI meant, yes I'm that good.....

This is cool

So is this

And this one also...

Thanks to WILL for pointing out the missing links!

i'm pretty sure short people do feel short, just as tall people feel tall. i'm sure some people feel it more than others.

i'm not quite sure what you mean by "best kind" of tea... while i personally find loose leaf more satisfying, it's certainly no where near as convenient as a teabag, and i really don't feel like bagged tea is enough of a difference for me to spend too much time worrying about it (except in the case of yerba mate, but that's a different story.) in terms of brand i like twinings or harney & sons for british black teas, i like numi for more asian black teas and tazo for herbal blends. peet's has some pretty good loose leaf teas, and i'm sure there's a large selection of "boutique" tea shops in and around la.

in terms of types of tea that i enjoy lapsang souchong definitely tops the list, followed by english breakfast, peppermint and probably some form of pu-erh. clearly this is just preferential.

i'm really not sure what the last three lines of your post mean...

Hmm. I'll confine myself to commenting on the last two links.

The dancer is turning both ways, depending on whether you view her from above or below. Which side of the brain do I use? :-)

Oct 19th: The very first item is the battle of Zama; Rome is my favorite non-US historical topic, and the Punic Wars were one of the key steps in her rise to power.

A bit later we get Yorktown. 'Nuff said. John Jay becomes the 1st Chief Justice of the Supreme Court a bit later as a bonus.

You've also got both Black Monday and the Dow going over 12,000 for the first time; little bit of irony there.

People I know on the list include Arleigh Burke, Lyman Hall, George Pullman, Ernest Rutherford, Walt Kelly, St. Rene Goupil (already knew he died that day, my confirmation saint) and the other martyrs. Overall it seems to have been a more popular day to die than to be born, though you balance the scales quite a bit. :-)
